Annie Fox - My Daughter

Annie Fox & Roz Vanderhoof

I know a few fun facts about Annie. She loves Florida - always has. She obtained her Bachelor degree from Florida State, majoring in Interior Design. Annie was born and raised in Illinois. The family resided in Westchester, a suburb of Chicago. Annie and Bob (now her husband of 17 years) decided that they both wanted to attend college in Florida. You guessed it, they were high-school sweethearts. The family vacationed in Florida every year since she was a child, and I guess the sand and palm trees beckoned Annie to want more sunshine than snow.

So Ann and Bob both graduated from Florida State and by that time the family also bid goodbye to Illinois and called Boca Raton , Florida home. In 1990, Ann and Bob were married in Illinois and moved from Tallahassee down to Boca Raton in 1991. Ann worked as an interior designer in Boca, then told the family that their first child was due in February, 1994. My first grand-daughter, Taylor Fox, was born on February 19th. I remember my dad was living with us at the time, and we always went to the pancake house for breakfast on Saturday mornings. Well, Bob called us at around 8:00 a.m. and said Ann was in the hospital, but also said not to rush as the labor was just starting. We decided to go to breakfast then go to the hospital. Well, about half way to the restaurant, I turned the car around and said, "I can't go. I need to get to the hospital." Sure enough Taylor did not want to wait too long to join the family. She was born less than 1 hour after I got there.

It is hard to believe I am now the grandmother of Taylor Fox (13 yrs.) and Lindsey Fox (10 yrs). Lindsey loves soccer and sports. She adores kittens and rescued a small grey kitten she found in the Publix parking lot. The veterinarian said the kitten was probably born during the hurricane Francis. The kitten was found under a truck parked in the lot and chances are that it would not have survived much longer alone living on the streets. If you come into the store, check out our scrapbook café table tops. Mr. Bell is the rather large fat grey cat found in many pictures on the table. Oh, when they first brought Mr. Bell home, they thought the kitty was a little girl, and named the kitty Misty Bell. At the next visit to the veterinarian they found out differently, resulting in the new name of Mr. Bell.

After Ann's children were born she decided to continue her education and received her Masters degree in Education. Ann taught 4th grade for 6 years at St Jude school. She loved her students, but realized her heart was into scrapbooking and wanted to open a store. She enjoyed scrapbooking and stamping for 15 years, and as the passion grew, she asked me if I would like to join her in obtaining her dream of owning her very own store.
